The Ford Focus RS was introduced in 1998 as a high-performance rally orientated vehicle. In 2006, Ford Motor Team chief engineer Christian Loriaux had the vehicle optimised by having the seating position, roll cage, suspension, aerodynamics and engine revised. The 2 litre 4 cylinder turbo engine delivers 300PS and 550Nm. In seven years of factory use, Ford was able to win four constructors’ titles with the RS. TAMIYA presents this model in the custom version, i.e. as a road version without sponsors.
The 58724 TAMIYA 1:10 scale model is based on the proven TT-02 chassis. The wheelbase, ground clearance, track and gear ratio can be adjusted in many ways and the chassis can be quickly tuned into a racer with the countless optional tuning parts. The 4WD drive with central shaft, double wishbones and suspension struts on all four wheels ensure a true-to-life driving experience and optimum traction. The underside of the chassis has an extra smooth design and the battery compartment accommodates all standard battery types. The wheel drivers, which have attached dummy brake discs, are a visual highlight.
The enclosed body is unpainted and can be painted with the TAMIYA polycarbonate colours.
